Project management began as the study of “work” in the latter half of the 1800’s by a man named Frederick Taylor but it wasn’t until around the 1950’s that the many techniques of project management were assembled into a coherent system. It was the huge undertaking of the Polaris missile project that brought project management techniques to the forefront and resulted in several spin off tools that are now some of the primary tools used in all project management. ...
