Introduction Aims During the completion of this coursework I wish to: „« Be able to work well with my fellow class mates as a team and work well in order to do well. „« Become more familiar with the geography of the North Belfast area. „« Become more familiar with the techniques of analysis that I will be using. Hypothesis My three hypothesesˇ¦ are: 1. As the distance from the city centre increases the overall environmental quality also increases. 2. As the distance from the city centre increases, then the religious segregation decreases. I.e. as you move out the communities become of more mixed religions. 3. As the distance from the city centre increase so does the number of cars per house hold. Methodology On Monday 22nd September my fellow pupils and I set out to collect the relevant information on Belfast and the surrounding area. We were spilt into 3 groups to cover the areas faster, and given instructions on what to do. For things like ˇ§Paving and Road, Dereliction, Street Furniture, Advertisements, Nuisance, Traffic Parking, Building Conditions, Boundary walls and fences, General housekeeping, Land-Use (residential/industrial), access to public open space and access to shopsˇ¨ I gave each site a mark out of 5 for what I thought was an appropriate score.
