In the movie Chasing Amy, the main characters were very permissive with their sexuality. In a changing society, these acts are becoming more and more acceptable. Traditional roles have changed as years have passed which could lead to a dangerous society. The main character in the story, Allisa, is a very sexual woman. She is a great example of what society is conforming to. Her character starts off as being a lesbian which is becoming more and more acceptable amongst society where as gay men are still ostracized. Allisa then turns out to be bisexual and her past is revealed to her boyfriend. She was involved in threesomes and numerous other sexual encounters. The way her boyfriend reacted is also true of society. Most men dream of being involved in a threesome or they may have been a part of one, but if they date a girl who has, it is unacceptable and she would be labeled a strumpet.
