23rd June 2003
Mr Chairman
With reference to the disciplinary hearing held on Thursday 19th June 2003 at Avesta Sports & Social Club.
I would like to appeal against the sentence that the committee have placed upon myself.
In the first instance may I quite categorically state that at no time between the incident occurring and the meeting taking place have I been asked to attend a disciplinary hearing regarding myself thus I have not been allowed to prepare a defence for myself. This in itself I feel should make the disciplinary meeting null and void and a rather than an appeal this should be the basis of a new hearing heard by a new committee
May I start by giving my detailed account of the circumstances leading up to this meeting and perhaps from this you can see my case in question? ... However the next day after speaking to several committee members I was horrified to be told that I should not resign because on Thursday they (meaning the Under 12’s Brinsworth Juniors) were to be kicked out of the club at a disciplinary hearing. ... But at no time did the Chairman state that I had to attend because I was the subject if the disciplinary and it would appear that if I had not asked to attend the the hearing would have gone ahead without me. ...
Anyway I attended the disciplinary meeting on Thursday at 7. ...
Due to my appeal I understand that the suspension cannot come into force until this is heard and decided upon. ...
This is my initial letter of appeal and I will have letters of support and evidence shortly.
