Johnny forever changed my life about what I look for in music. ... The Ring of Fire captures Johnnys incredible life in a relatively short amount of space (300 pages), and explains to readers, the impact which his music and his philosophys have had on the world.
The Ring of Fire starts off with about fifty pages about Johnnys childhood growing up in Dyess, Arkansas. ... Cash spent a great amount of time in the studio recording for originally Sun Records, and later on, Columbia records, and this book captures much of his studio time and personal work which led to the production of his great music. ... The Ring of Fire also includes such events as the seven different times John was arrested, and his near death as he decided he wanted to go on no further. The book concludes with the decision of Johnny going to record for American Recordings, and the final years of his life which were spent battling disease, and poor health. Johnnys musical career is my biggest focus and it is something that is extraordinary for one man to do alone.
