In class today I found a heard a few things I didn’t know about before. One of the questions that was asked was “Have you ever been harassed for being a certain religion?’. The woman that was there responded in a way I couldn’t believe. She said that she asked the school that her daughter was going to, to sing for winter songs instead of Christmas songs since they were Jewish and didn’t believe in Christmas. The school responded by saying no and said they would have to get petitions signed. After all her family went through the town she lived in still preceded to harass her by telling the family that they are ruining this whole towns Christmas experience. After hearing this she decided from then on they wouldn’t even be there for Christmas and would go to Florida during that time. When I heard this I was outraged, I couldn’t believe that a town would do something like that to them, it doesn’t matter what religion you are or race, things like this should never happen.
