Before I took this class, I never thought about what a place was and where my place was. I though a place was where you were standing or living, a landscape, room, house, or hotel room. However, this is not true. A place is not necessarily to be physical; it can be mental and spiritual. Your place can be somewhere that you used to live, work, or even the moment in time when you are with somebody you love. Unfortunately, I could not find a place for myself. I do not know where I actually belong. My dorm room, the house where I used to live in New York and the room I rented in New York are not my place. I do not feel sense of belonging to any of these places. However, I have many selective memories in these places. In the cockles of my heart, my place is in Hong Kong where I was born. I grew up there and have many unforgettable memories there. Even though I do not live there, Hong Kong is still my home because my family is there.
