	The passage from Luke tells of a rich man and a poor man named Lazarus, and their afterlife. The poor man lay at the gate of the rich man, but was never helped. Lazarus served God and was rewarded with eternal life in Heaven. The rich man, on the other hand, was greedy and only lived for himself. ... The passage from Luke begins by giving a brief summary of the earthly life led by each man. The poor man lived a very miserable, unsheltered life. The rich man, though he had everything he could ever want, is imagined to be lonely.
