Martin Luther King Jr. Essay I have a dream… to sit down at the table of brotherhood." -Martin Luther King Jr. On August 28, 1963, a great man stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washinton D.C. and spoke these immortal words, changing America for the better. His speech was the grand finale to a massive march from Alabama to Washington D.C. where he spoke in front of over 250,000 people. Martin Luther King Jr. Went to a segregated public school in Georgia from which he graduated from at the age of fifteen. He went on to receive a degree from Morehouse College and then enrolled in Boston University. In 1954, he was a member of the executive committeee of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People .
