As one of the only book publishing companies that has survived the last 35 years, Walker and company is experiencing tough times. In the publishing field Walker and company has many obstacles to overcome. Although only a medium size company Walker has to compete with major publishers such as Random House and Barnes & Noble, which is a subsidiary of Bertelsmann (the third largest media and entertainment conglomerate in the world). Now before we detail the issues of the case, we need to explain the history of Walker and company and some of the focus of the publishing business.
Walker and company was established in 1959 by Sam Walker and later managed by his son Ramsey.
