To start of with I set up the tripod with the gauge, heat proof mat and Bunsen burner, after this I filled a beaker halfway with water and set it on top of the tripod (with the gauze in between the tripod and beaker). ... Once the water is heated to the right temperature I then put in 5 yeast balls and tried to keep the temperature constant all the way through the experiment whilst timing it. As soon as the first yeast ball reached the surface I stopped the stop watch and recorded the time.
