Teaching

I decided to go into the teaching profession because I want to make a difference. I love to learn and I feel that the real purpose of teaching is not to just simply teach, but to inspire the desire for life long learning. There is no greater satisfaction than seeing children learn something new. I believe that education is an ongoing process and that no one’s education is ever fully complete. Education should extend beyond the classrooms of our schools. People should be learning wherever they go and should continue learning long after they have graduated from high school or college. Any person with a solid education is fully prepared for nearly everything this world can throw at us. I think that a lot of what I personally believe about education closely relates to the philosophical theme idealism. I would like to teach my students to rely more on understanding and also help them to develop the great ability to question.
