	In today’s society we operate using laws made by the government, which makes the way, we live different form The Giver, because the rules are very absurd and sometimes unimaginable. The society in The Giver is different from ours in terms of the way it is governed because in The Giver, you are not to have a specific toy or object until a certain age, you are not allowed to take care of a child until it heshe is given to you at a certain age and the name cannot be chosen by you, nor the gender. Another thing that is different from our society is that a job is assigned to you in The Giver, and you must accept it.
