The 12th century in Europe began with what is known today as the Spanish Inquisition. ... No, it wasn’t the same opinions and beliefs being banned in Fahrenheit 451 as in the 12th century Europe, but the intent and objectives of those making the rules were the same. ... The same goes for Fahrenheit 451 as Fire Chief Beatty explains; “A problem gets too burdensome, then into the furnace with it. ... As we can tell by today, the Spanish inquisition was not successful, as these people still exist; neither did the attempts in “Fahrenheit 451” to make people happy. ... In Fahrenheit 451 people were not slaughtered, but they might as well of been as what the believed in was taken away from them and they were thrown in prison; far away from everything they loved in life.
