A disease ridden filth factory is a more accurate name then the meat packing industry. The conditions are utterly disgusting and are unbearable. In The Jungle by Upton Sinclair it unveils the horrors in the meat industry. It awakens the consumers to the filth they shove in their faces every night for dinner. It also shows his hatred for the industry as a whole in the cartoon it shows a butcher who says “yep meats gone up today” it shows a banner saying that if you don’t like it to bad don’t eat. This shows the cold harsh feelings of the large meat corporation to the common people. These butchers and meat producers were allowed to do whatever they wanted due to the fact that the only inspectors were three government appointed officials who were paid to say the meat was fine to eat.
