While football has taken care of this problem of players wanting high salaries by creating a salary cap, other sports like basketball, hockey, and especially baseball still have this problem of players wanting top dollar. The specific problems that have stemmed off this overpowering greed include excessive salaries, lockouts in professional sports, and the growing disparity among team payrolls.
Most recognize these issues as major problems; however, others overlook the greed and see legitimacy in the financial aspect of todays sports world.
