I chose Italy because I think it’s the most beautiful country in the world. Everyone needs to see what Italy has to offer tourists, from spectacular food to beautiful scenery. I personally haven’t been there but my family that immigrated here tells me stories about the country and I’m astonished every time I hear them. I plan on visiting Italy with my mom in the next few years so I can finally tell people I’ve experienced the life in Italy. UNIT TWO: TOURISM AND THE ECONOMONY The Italian economy has changed dramatically since the end of World War 2. From an agriculturally based economy, it has developed into an industrial state ranked as the world's fifth-largest industrial economy. Italy belongs to the Group of Eight industrialized nations. Italy is in the midst of a slow economic recovery and is gradually catching up to its west European neighbours. Italy's economy accelerated from anaemic 0.7% growth in 1996 to 1.4% in 1999 and continued to rise to about 2.9% in 2000, which is closer to the EU projected growth rate of 3.1%. Domestic demand and exports were the dominant factors in GDP growth, but it nevertheless remains one of the lowest among industrialized countries. Italy stands really high on the most visited list by ranking 4th most visited country in the world. Italy benefits on tourism because so many people come to visit therefore a lot of tourists money gets spent and leaked through their economy. UNIT THREE: TOURISM AND CULTURE Language: Italian is the first language spoken in Italy. Italian seems like a really popular language even in Canada with courses on how to speak Italian in most high schools even in Guelph and many courses in colleges/universities in Ontario.
