Daniel Shays, born 1747, formally a farmer in Massachusetts was an American solider that fought the British in the American Revolution and was then made a captain in 1777. After the war ended he lived in Pelham Massachusetts, again being a farmer, were he later led this rebellion against the government he had fought to get.
