Companies like Nike use a flexible network of overseas manufacturers, suppliers and distributors in order to produce their shoes “just in time”, when the market needs it, which means that they don’t need to keep big quantities in stock, again making cuts in costs. ... It’s important that sports shoe companies like Nike, Reebok, Adidas, etc, can keep an open mind and stay fairly flexible towards the rapidly changing market, if they are to survive.
