A Comparasion: Novel
Versus Film
As humans, we all struggle. ... That is one of the themes in The Chosen, a novel written by Chaim Potok. The Chosen is a very beautiful novel, mild and deligate, and at the same time powerful and heart wrenching. ... On the other hand, the motion picture for The Chosen, is definitly not up to par with expectations based on the novle. The film version is what can be calles "hollywoodized." The fragile qualitly of the novel raped away so that we have what is called entertaining, instead of meaningful. ... Savo, an ex-boxer, Billy, a blind boy, and Rav Gershenson are excluded from the movie and only present in the novel. ...
