In the United States of America right now there is a big controversial topic that is taking place - gay marriage. ... Many Americans are afraid and unaware of homosexuals and believe that they do not truly love someone of the same sex, so they should not have legal rights to marry their partner. ... Gay marriage is something that is personal to each person and nobody should be jeopardized and told what to do just because they happen to love a person of the same sex. Gay marriage is a choice and should remain an individual’s choice, not the state’s.
Two people of the same sex can just as easily fall in love with one another as a man and woman can fall in love. ... The survey that was given to the entering college freshman class of 2003 showed that the freshmen were very much accepting of gays, gay couples and gay marriages than in any other year so far (Varnell). The survey took down statistics and it showed that around fifty-nine percent of the college freshman agreed in legalizing gay marriages in every state in the United States and about legalizing it world wide.
