Many people underestimate how much of an effect the video game industry really has had on our daily lives, whether we play video games or not. ... E-mail communications, internet browsing, business applications, shopping, and photo development applications are all by-products of the advances in computer video graphics capabilities. These advances were and still are most strongly motivated by the graphical demands of newer, better video games. The industry has constantly pushed the limits of the imagination of both its developers and players in order to produce immersive and entertaining software which will hopefully leave an impressionable mark on society.
