Vinay S. Shah RIN: 660227054 11/24/2003 PD 2 Elaborations 1. An example of a transformational leader is my Boy Scout troop leader, who understood the needs of everyone in the troop and the goals that had to be done. 2. An example of organizational citizenship behavior where I worked was when one intern was having car trouble and could not make it on time. Instead of leaving his experiment at rest, I volunteered to start warming up his equipment so he would not waste time when he arrived. 3. In our PD2 class, we were initially penalized for not coming to videos. Instead, after we discussed rewards and etc. in class, we realized we should be rewarded for our attending instead of getting penalized for not attending. 4. An example of expectancy theory is that I have noticed many people do charatiable work for an organization that they have high beliefs in because they will get some type of success out of it (i.e. helping raise funds, finding cures for diseases, etc.) Additionally, people study for tests and quizzes in anticipation of obtaining high marks. 5. An example of Thorndike’s Law of Effect was at work when I found a solution to a problem in the lab. My boss asked a lot of questions about the solution, and in the end, he praised me for my findings.
