Preliminary Work
Aim: How does ‘Surface Area’ affect the rate of reaction between calcium carbonate and hydrochloric acid?
Prediction: I predict that the bigger the surface area the faster the calcium carbonate will react with the hydrochloric acid therefore a faster reaction.
Theory: The theory behind my prediction is that the bigger the surface area the more the hydrochloric acid can get at the calcium carbonate in a shorter space of time therefore making a quicker reaction this can be explained by the diagrams on page 2. ... 3
