In Turkey there are many civil initiatives that have crucial obligations to fulfill some problematic areas. These Civil Initiatives are important factors that unify people for a purpose that they think there is a gap at that the field where that initiative founded for. In many countries there are initiatives to create a sensitive society for its nation’s problem. On the One hand, there is Tarih Vakfý which is an example of a civil initiative for understanding and protecting national history which is an important aspect for the creation of a nation and culture. On the other hand, there is Eðitim Gönüllüleri Vakfý which gives importance to creating a developed, literal people and creates opportunities to people to have their education. These two civil initiatives will be discussed in later paragraphs about their objectives, activities and how they influence society and increase social solidarity and national attention on the matter. Tarih Vakfý first of all, gives importance to create a historical background that is away from chauvinism and make History as an effective scientific study branch. Tarih Vakfý, with main approach “History for Peace”, activities are for originating the mutual understanding, democracy, and peace among society. Besides, these activities are for society to make them gain a rich and comprehensive historical perspective. Tarih Vakfý facilitates the discernment about economic and historical studies that these studies are crucial for cultural richness and development. Furthermore, wakf make itself to coerce to scrutinize those important pieces of cultural heritance, such as documents, maps, photographs, are kept in the borders of Turkey. Moreover, wakf makes archives of temporary events that are thought to bear historical significance and advance an oral historical study by recording voices and videos of people whose remembrances can be valuable for history. In addition, wakf ascertains, categorizes, and documents the libraries and archives held by people that are precious for the Turkish economic and social history. Likewise, wakf supports the historical studies that become important for the Turkish history, gives scholarships, organize competition about history, and put encouragement awards for the studies about Turkish history. What's more, arranging meetings, opening courses and summer schools, building institutions for education and instruction in all levels are also in the activity list of Tarih Vakfý. Besides, wakf acts as an advisor to the programs or films about history, a designer of documentary films and radio-television programs among channels, and implement publication works such as book, periodical, bulletin, calendar, and brochure by studying with publishers.
