The Sky is Falling By: Kit Pearson Part II- Introduction The Sky is Falling by Kit Pearson, is a heart-breaking tragedy about two children in World War II. It is a story about a courageous teenager and her younger brother, who are forced to live in Canada with a guardian, in fear of an invasion by Hitler in England, her home town. Part III- Plot Summary The plot of the novel is very easy to follow because it is a realistic story told step by step . It involves a girl named Norah and her brother, Gavin, who are serving as English War Guests in Canada. The story begins in a small village in England called Ringden, where Norah and her family are all suffering from rationing and the bombing from the commotion of World War II. Finally, when the war gets worse, Norah’s family decides to send Norah and Gavin away to Canada where they can be safe. They both travel by train and boat across the ocean to Toronto. When they arrive in Toronto, Canada, they are sent to a university where they are groomed and picked up by their new guardians. The guardians of Norah and Gavin where wealthy people. Florence Oglilvie and her older daughter Mary. The Ogilvies, with their high expectations, much preferred Gavin over Norah, for he was much younger and cuter.
