"A helicopter made an emergency landing near Falluja. There were four passengers and four crew members on board and there are no survivors," a military spokeswoman said. She said the Black Hawk was on a medical evacuation mission when it came down but had no details of the passengers. She did not know if it was hit by enemy fire. It was the deadliest helicopter incident for Americans in Iraq since November 15, when two Black Hawks collided under fire in Mosul, killing 17 soldiers. In the last such incident, on January 2, guerrillas shot down an OH-58 observation helicopter in central Iraq, killing one pilot and injuring another. Falluja, dominated by Iraq's Sunni Muslim minority who had the upper hand under Saddam Hussein, has long been a trouble spot for the U.S. occupying forces. They have dubbed the area north and west of the capital the Sunni Triangle. U.S. Helicopter Forced Down in Iraq, Killing 8 By REUTERS Published: January 8, 2004 AGHDAD, Jan.
