The night air was hot and breezy. The city lights were bright and extremely colorful, white, pink, blue and yellow blinking and flashing rapidly from one sign to another for blocks and blocks. The lights were seen as far as you could see. Lights were so bright it did not seem as if night had fell. As I stood on the corner of 42nd street and 8th avenue trying to decide which crowd of people I should follow I began to think of what I had just experienced. I was easily distracted as I watch many people trying to get in front of each other some saying, “excuse me” and some people not saying anything just squeezing their shoulders in front of the other person but, the body followed. People never look back at the person whom they just offended. Maneuvering and swaying in and out of crowds was a skill most of us who lives in a big city such as New York acquires the talent like cars trying to pass each other on a crowded highway.
