Gandhi Gandhi used his ability to relate to the every day man and his speaking, and leadership, skills to unite the people of India. Instead of talking an extreme approach to the situation of the British Empire ruling India he took a peaceful approach of civil disobedience. Through theses qualities he was able to bring a heavily divided and foreign ruled country to gain independence. When Gandhi came to India he didn’t know how to relate to the people, or know their culture so he decided to visit the whole country by train and live like a regular Indian. One of the things he did to show people that he was a voice for them and just like them, was he traveled in 3rd class this gave people confidence in as a leader for the people without any outside interests.
