Killing Lizards

Killing Lizards is about a little boy, Gavin, who’s living with his mother and father in Africa. One day he comes into the bedroom of his parents, but hesitates for a while, as he once caught them sleeping naked after, probably, having sex. As he enters the room, his mother sits at her dressing table, brushing her hair. He tells her that he is going to kill lizards with some of his friends. And she actually doesn’t care. He also asks her where she is off to, and she tells him that she is going to a rehearsal for some play. So the son walks off to meet his friends. They, as mentioned, where going to kill lizards with catapults. Before going on the hunt the boys go to Gavin’s father. As his father asks him what the mother is going to do, he says what she said. This makes the father wonder. The story is about, as seen above, the twelve-year-old boy Gavin. He has this bad relationship to his sister. Before he liked her, but as she turned 15, she lost her attention in playing with him, and started go shopping with their mother.
