In an effort to increase strength in the union, the Constitutional Convention was formed and the proceedings for the Constitution began. Upon ratification of the new constitution, became debates regarding where the power of the people should lie. ... They felt this new constitution granted too much federal control and did not give individuals rights over speech, religion, and trial by jury; therefore, the anti-federalist pushed for the constitutional convention to draw up a Bill of Rights. ... And the judicial branch, which consist of the Supreme Court and their duty is to determine the rights of individuals under the constitution.
As a result, the Anti-Federalist understood their vote, as individuals would be represented under this style of government; however, still insisted a Bill of Rights be added to the constitution for their protection.
