A Caring Hand It has been almost four years since an ordinary man’s life was changed by a young girl. This young man, named Franklin, was only eighteen and had just gotten out of Juvenile Hall. His mother and father got a divorce when his was a little boy. His mother wasn’t there and his father didn’t care much about him. On May 18, 2000, Franklin’s life was about to be changed forever by a fourteen year old girl named Krystal. One day, Krystal saw a young man sitting on the neighbors back porch alone and isolated from the rest of the world. He looked scared and unwanted. Every few minutes, Krystal would look over at him from afar and think, “He needs a friend.” He stood up and started walking to the bottom of the hill and Krystal carefully followed him, trying hard not to be noticed. She decided that she better check the mail while she was down there so he wouldn’t think that she was following him.
