LIVE PERFORMANCE BEN FRENCH 03/1577 JIM PRIME SUBMISSION DATE 27/11/03 LIVE PERFORMANCE This is a report on the first year live performance, which I did with the band we called, the Blond Blueprint. The band had some good artists; Robert plays the guitar very well, his input to the band was vital for getting chord structures on the ground and filling out melodies. Laura is a good pianist; she complimented the melodies Robert produced. We had two vocalists Carol and Craig they did most of the singing and adaptation of lyrics, working together very well to come up with some good stuff. Then there was Peter and myself both ‘Techies’ really, although Peter plays the drums to a reasonable standard and I play some keyboard, so I used a synthesiser. Peter was handed control of the group; everyone just seemed to look for his approval for things and listened to what he had to say. I believe this happened because he was older and has played in a band for a while, giving him generally more experienced than the rest of us. Although, I felt sometimes that it was Carol and myself that was keeping everybody focused on what needed to be done with Peter doing a lot in the way of booking the Berkley studios. I was responsible for making sure that everything was plugged in, working properly and not producing feedback. Really I was the sound engineer, especially at Berkley as I was always there with a bag full of cables and connectors. When it came to doing various things in the group there was always someone willing to volunteer their time for tasks, this made organising things for the band fairly easy.
