Baboons, which are part of a large group of primates, are unique creatures that scientist only know an ample amount of information on. Baboons portray similar qualities like all other mammals except one distinct characteristic in male baboons that differentiated them from other female baboons and other mammals.
Baboons are very similar to humans, especially when they are babies. Baboon infants need the nurture and care from both of their parent but more so their mother who provides the milk needed to grow and survive. ... The baby baboons need their mother’s care and milk for quite a long time. ... When the baby reaches two, it usually is forced to gain independence and therefore is transferred to adolescence because the mother’s care is concentrated on her new infant. ... At age four to five the female baboons starting having periods and become interested in adult males and sex. ... The male baboons might even have to travel to more than one social group until they find a group that they have a good chance in mating. ... Female baboons have offspring every twelve to fifteen months and soon focus their attention to their babies.
