When a man likes a woman, he has to tell her. The situation could unfold in many ways, romantic or very awkward, sociological or psychological. She can either reciprocate the feelings, totally reject them, or feel impartial. This is my story of how I confessed my undying “like” for a girl. Let’s call her, “Jane” for privacy reasons, and let’s call him, John. It all began about two years ago, when I met Jane. She was at a conference at which I was a counselor, and she a senior in high school. I found her rather obnoxious and overbearing because of what I had been told by other counselors. She began to act as if she had a huge crush on me, and I pretty much ignored her. After the conference I had forgotten about everything, until I began to see her more often. She became one of those people that I would speak to out of obligation. Pretty harsh, yet very wise because if I gave her any sign of liking her she would take it and blow it all out of proportion. I had been attending a bible study at church, and we had just started Joshua, and I go to the first class, and who is sitting in the room? Yes it was Jane. I spoke to be nice. And in the following weeks we started talking more and more. She asked me if I could give her a ride home after bible study. I obliged and we ended up at Panera Bread for coffee and bagels. This became an occasional event, going for coffee or taking her home or both. I began to think of Jane as a friend and we began to hang out more after class. This past summer I had surgery on my jaw, and Jane called me to check up and see how I was recovering. This sparked a summer of friendship.
