In today’s society, the legalization of abortion is probably the biggest mistake that the united states has made. ... The issue of whether or not abortions should be outlawed is still a big concern that yet even today, in the twenty first century, it’s left unanswered Abortion is now legal in the United States thanks to Roe V. ... Wade, a single pregnant women who brought a class action challenging the constitutionality of the Texas criminal laws, which proscribe procuring or attempting an abortion except on medical advise for the purpose of saving the mother’s life. She wanted a legal abortion in Texas because her life did not appear t be threatened by the pregnancy and that she could not travel to another jurisdiction to secure an abortion under safe conditions. The supreme court permits abortion up to 24 weeks and after that time only to save the life of the mother. According to Justice Harry Blackmun who divided pregnancy in three trimesters aside from the normal procedure guidelines, a state has no right to restrict abortion in the first six months of pregnancy. A woman could have an abortion during the first two trimesters for any reason she deemed fit whether it be an unplanned pregnancy, gender selection, convenience, or rape. ... Wade does not prevent a state from allowing unrestricted abortion for the entire months of pregnancy if it so chooses, instead Roe v. Wade judicially created abortion on demand in the united states, which is an abortion on demand meaning that during the first six months of pregnancy a woman can have an abortion for no reason, but in the last three months she can have it for any reason. She was given the right to abortion, because the law does not want to be rigid and came to realize that pregnancy comes more than once to the same woman, and in the general population, if man is to survive, it will always be with us. ...
