The Incubus Concert The Incubus concert in 2002 was the first real concert I had ever seen. I had been a stagehand for the Marshall Tucker Band a few years ago, but the experience in my opinion wasn’t exactly thrilling. I had always liked Incubus, but I wasn’t a huge fan. The “Morning View” CD was the best they had ever released, and I was looking forward to watching their tour stop at the Civic Center on September 26th. I purchased my ticket about a week in advance for thirty dollars, pretty cheap considering a band of their caliber. I went with four of my good friends and when we got there I noticed the high amount of police officers there. We even had to be patted down before we entered the concert area. Our tickets were general admission on the floor so we just sat down about halfway from the stage; we were in a good spot. I surprisingly noticed a lot of my friends and people from our school in various parts of the floor. The floor slowly started to fill up, and everyone stood up in anticipation of Incubus’ opening band, 30 Seconds to Mars. I had never heard of them, but I overheard some people mulling about how they only had a few good songs, and that they were “alright”. They were late to get on the stage, they were supposed to be out at 7:30 and the time was pushing 8:00.
