On November 3, 2003, approximately 2230 hours, this Detective was dispatched to 321 West Horizon Ridge Parkway, Apartment 714, Henderson, Nevada 89012, reference a CSI REPORT possible homicide. At 2245 hours, this Detective arrived at the aforementioned location. Upon arrival Officer Jeff Daniels, #536, was contacted. Officer Daniels related to this Detective, approximately 2215 hours, this date, he was dispatched to this location reference a report of "Shots fired." Officer Daniels stated he arrived at 2220 hours and entered the residence through the front door, which was ajar. Upon entry, Officer Daniels stated that he observed a body of what appeared to be a white, male, adult lying face down on the living room floor, approximately ten (10) feet inside of the residence. Officer Daniels said he proceeded to check the victim for vital signs and found none. He said he then checked the interior of the residence for possible suspects and/or victims, and found none. At this point Officer Daniels secured the residence and requested the Dispatch Center to notify the on-call Homicide Detective. When asked, Officer Daniels stated he did not touch anything in the residence other than checking for vital signs on the victim. At this time this Detective directed Officer Daniels to secure the scene and start a Crime Scene Log. This Detective then entered the residence and observed the following from the front door threshold. Lying approximately ten (10) feet from the front door, near the middle of the room, was a body of an unknown white, male, adult, face down with a large pool of what appeared to be blood surrounding the head.
