Didgeridoo's

DIDGERIDOO by Babiche Routledge * DIDGERIDOO What is the Didgeridoo? This instrument is and was played by the Aborigine's who live in Australia. The Didgeridoo is probably the most interesting instrument of all Aboriginal instruments. This instrument is about four to five feet long and the player blows in the instrument in a trumpet fashion. * The Didji is used with other Aboriginal instruments like the Bull Roarer and Clap sticks which look like boomerangs. All the instruments together are usually used on feasts or celebrations companioned by dance and song. The Didji is almost never used as a solo instrument. A large version of the Didji is called a Yurlungger but is only used on feasts. What is the Didgeridoo used for? The Didgeridoo was used for telling ancient stories and for communication between different tribes. The stories were told from father to son to grandson and so on, because the Aborigine's wanted to keep their culture as much alive as possible.
