Even though Canadians and Americans have many things in common, when it comes to politics, social issues and religion Canadians and Americans are on separate sides of the world.
Most Americans don’t see a difference in Canadians because they don’t really pay attention to what goes on in other countries, unless it involves them. This fact is easily seen on a television program from CBC television entitled “Talking to Americans” hosted by Rick Mercer. The main goal of the show is to poke fun at how Americans know little about Canada, even though we are neighboring countries. ... There has also been books and articles published by Canadian authors such as “Canadians are not Americans: Myths and Literary Traditions” written by Katherine Morrison. ... The studies also find that Americans are future-driven, and find it easier to relate to a person with outstanding individual achievements, or who succeeded against all odds.
