Candelo Essay Most of the relationships portrayed in Candelo do not appear to be very positive or successful. What messages were conveyed to you about two or three relationships in Candelo and how they were conveyed by the author? In the book Candelo by Georgia Blain there are many relationships and a majority of these are not very successful. Blain successfully portrays these relationships as being bad by having Ursula as the narrator and having her say how she sees’ them. The main relationships in candela are Bernard and Vi’s because this relationship goes bad and they split when Ursula is only young and she doesn’t get to see a happy mother and father relationship which may be some of the blame for the decisions that she makes in her relationships.
