Comparative-Contrast Present Fun vs. Past Fun Remember when children would race home from school, scurry to do their chores and homework just so they could hurry up to go outside and play? Parents then would not see their children until just before the streetlights came on. Parents now can barely get their kids to leave the front porch. Children’s pastimes today seem to have had a limiting effect on the child’s imagination as well as their physical health. Kids nowadays just sit around playing inside with games that have been imagined for them, providing no actual physical activity. The child of yesteryear had a fuller childhood, filled with activity and imagination. Looking at today’s children, and how they entertain themselves these days, makes one miss the fun times he or she had as a child.
