Richer countries should help the poorer ones based on an array of reasons, ranging from moral imperatives to selfish economic and political agenda. Many poor countries in the world are under the assistance schemes of their richer counterparts and even managed to achieve self-sustaining capabilities and are on the way towards rapid economic progress that will bring them prosperity. Based on these accounts, it seems to be a win-win situation for richer countries to help the poorer ones. The issue that really matters, is rather, the extent to which the richer countries help the poorer ones. Richer countries aid to their poorer counterparts should serve the purpose of helping these needy countries survive, achieve stability and the right conditions for economic growth, after which they should try to stand on their own grounds to compete and thrive in the global arena. ...
