Isn’t it funny how the concept of forever or the idea of infinity is so hard for people to accept if we are speaking of ourselves or our creations? Some things can last a long time, but never forever. I know that many different religions believe in the concept of life after death and believe that their souls will exist forever, but unless you rely on faith, it’s hard to imagine anything that could possibly exist forever. I guess maybe the universe could exist forever, but just like religion, we can’t prove it. This thought constantly has me contemplating whether such a thing is even possible. Does the Universe end or is there infinite space? If there is infinite space and all the planets are on a somewhat level orbit, then what is up or down? Maybe Heaven is up and Hell is down. Maybe they each have their own little planet in the Universe. Who are we to say? Who are we to think that our time on this planet even matters? At some point in time the sun will burn out and life will no longer be able to exist on this planet. Nothing, or no one, will ever know we were here. The fact is that our planet and everything else on it will cease to exist at some point in time.
