In his essay “University days”, Thurber talks about certain situations that happened to him at the Ohio State University. By targeting his peers, professors and himself he humorously presents the problems in the University education. ... Another problem he talks about the preferences the University especially some professors show s to athletes. ... He also shows how the University has become a business institution so they are forcing students to take subjects that have no relevance to their main studies or in life experiences just to milk them for their money. ... It was obvious in the class room that the professors went easier on the athletes, due to the fact that they represent their university.
