The career that I have selected to research is that of an Elementary School Teacher. This is a career that I found to be very interesting, and that matched my personality type. After having taken several personality and interest surveys, they all came to the conclusion that I am a very social person and enjoy helping others. A career as a teacher is one that came up over and over again when I interpreted the results for my surveys, and one that I am strongly interested in. Teachers have many characteristics which are necessary for them to posses in order for them to excel in their careers. Some of these characteristics involve: the ability to organize material and ideas, the effective use of words and language, the ability to establish good rapport with students, parents, and other staff members, and also the ability to educate and train others (Eureka, 2003-2004).
