Realism Sought to deal with Important Issues by presenting audiences with real characters in real settings. Discuss how Ibsen does this in A Doll’s House and how you would do this on stage. There are three main issues that Ibsen presents in “A Doll’s House”. They are; how woman are treated, Blackmail and lying. There a are a number of ways Ibsen presents these two us in the play. One way Ibsen presents the Issue of how women are treated is by the dialogue and terms of endearment that Helmer uses towards Nora. By using the terms like “scatterbrain” and “skylark” it shows us that Helmer doesn’t think much of Nora and thinks of her as inferior to him. Also, the way In which he talks about women in general shows us that he treats them as eye candy.
