As he tries to stand on the stool his acrophobia returns and the director uses quick cuts to show his emotion
Gavin’s office
Hitchcock cameo as the old man walking across the scene with a trumpet case
Long fade into the office
In the background cranes are working in the window
Pacing, showing Scottie in the foreground and Gavin in the background
Shot pans to an under shot of Gavin’s face
Scottie meets Madeleine
Background lights fade as she approaches
She walks past, you can see a half profile of her face
Light comes back up and glances off her hair
