“………..It’s a great day to be alive, I know the sun is still shining when I close my eyes….there’s some hard times in the neighborhood…… but why can’t everyday be just this gooooddd……” I sang along with my Travis Tritt CD while driving down Scottsville Rd in Bowling Green, Kentucky. I had just got off from a six hour shift of work at the Parent Teacher Store and was on my way back to the dorm to finish an English paper that was due in less than 3 hours. I usually didn’t procrastinate, but seeing as how I had to train everyday that current week for six hours at a new job, finding time to do homework became thin. However, it was Thursday. This meant that I had almost made it through the week, ALMOST being the keyword! “It is so beautiful outside today. Not to cold, not to hot. Just the way I like it,” I thought to myself as I looked out my driver’s side window.
