My parents stood there in shock. I had a bag of posters in one hand, and my hair was standing up. The chains on my pants jingled as I walked and I finally told them I was ready to go. My cell phone rang and my boss was on the line asking if I had the guestlist ready. This was the second concert I had ever worked with the record label before. Roadrunner Records was putting on this event, sponsored by Jagermeister at Irving Plaza in NYC. I was getting picked up by the tour bus any minute now. The band Killswitch Engage was on board. My father looked at me, disappointed. Ashamed that his son would go to heavy metal concerts, and look the way I do. Then finally the bus pulled up. It was filled with my peers for the most part, whom my parents in a way considered their enemies. Some people just can not comprehend the lifestyle of anyone involved with live concert production, for artists such as these. The doorbell rang. Howard (the lead singer of the band) was at the door, and I just left. I didn’t look back, although I knew my parents were looking out the window, wondering where they had gone wrong. We got on the bus and the tour manager was laying down on one of the couches. We talked about how we were going to distribute promotional materials, hang up posters, and market the event.
